name "Fontana Amorosa" Is of Italian origin Meaning the
Fountain of Love but the area Fontana Amorosa is situated in the national Park called "Akamas". This area is situated five miles west of the baths of Aphrodite near the far end of the Peninsula the only way to get to this region is to walk five to six miles or alternatively with a boat from Latchi. The area is uninhabited but of great beauty with
one side behind Legend has it that the Goddess Aphrodite use to bring her young lovers here away from people but the place was not named until the late 19th century by poets inspired by the area. |
